Tony Award Winner Leslie Odom Jr. Performs with Legend Phil Collins!
After starring in this century’s most talked about show on Broadway and winning the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, one has to question … does life get much better than this? The answer, for actor Leslie Odom Jr., who portrayed Aaron Burr in Hamilton is simply – yes, it does!
Leslie, who left the hip-hop sensation in early July, will take the stage with rock legend Phil Collins in August! The two will perform the National Anthem at the U.S. Open Tennis Championship’s opening ceremony on Monday, August 29 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. It will be the largest venue in which Leslie has ever performed and televised live on ESPN2.
Since exiting the show, Leslie been busy—to say the least. While primarily focusing on his jazz career, performing his new self-titled album in venues around the country including The McKittrick Hotel and The Rainbow Room, Leslie is also in the middle of negotiating to star in the remake of Agatha Christie’s film Murder on the Orient Express.
This October, Leslie will receive another honor as he and famed choreographer, Camille A. Brown, will be bestowed with the Princess Grace Statue Awards at our Gala at Cipriani 25 Broadway on October 24.
