Matthew Neff stumbled into the wardrobe five years ago. After making a Halloween costume for himself, he quickly found himself tailoring for celebrities’ appearances and events including The Met Gala for Burberry. He started as a dresser on Broadway for An American in Paris and moved from show to show in various roles from dressing actors, tailoring and repairing costumes and as the Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.
Other Broadway highlights from the 15 shows he has worked on include being the full time stitcher for Ain’t Too Proud and the current revival of West Side Story. He has tailored for fashion brand’s photoshoots and runway shows, various TV shows, and Madonna’s Madame X tour. When COVID-19 shut down Broadway, Matthew started making unique neoprene masks. They quickly became popular and his company neffnyc was born. neffnyc masks have been sold all over the world.
The company now employs several people and companies directly affected by the live entertainment industry shutdown. #wearamask
