Fatima Wardy is a Sudani filmmaker, raised in the UK and currently based in Baltimore. Her work delves into the impact of displacement on the African diaspora, examining moments of connection and dis-connection in the daily lives of immigrants. She directed the short film Hair Care, which scooped up 7 awards on its festival run, including a SXSW Special Jury Award in the Texas Shorts category. Her upcoming narrative short ‘White Musk’ was selected for the 2024 edition of the Short Form Station Lab at the Berlinale Talents Summit, and earned funding from the Building Bridges Fellowship (Islamic Scholarship Fund & Sundance Institute), the Sharjah Art Foundation and the Austin Film Society.
