Alexis Kulani Woodard (she/her) is a proud Spelman College Alumna and current third year M.F.A. Directing Candidate at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. Select Directing Credits include: an original adaptation of Measure for Measure, Moe’s a D*ck, and Every Brilliant Thing (Yale).

As a Spelman Leadership Fellow, Alexis served as the Co-Artistic Director of The Alliance Theatre’s inaugural 2020-2021 Digital Season. She produced Laugh Track, BackStage Atlanta, Spotlight Studio, and From the Ashes – an original adaptation of Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. Atlanta directing credits include: Hamlet (Tiny Theater Company, Alliance Theatre: Guest Artist Series), Do You Love The Dark? and Hands Up: 7 Playwrights, 7 Testaments (Alliance Theatre) which earned six Suzi Bass Award Nominations, including Best Direction, and one win for Outstanding Social Justice Production. Her direction of Lungs was shown at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale Bucharest” and other venues around Romania.
