Ana Alpizar is a Cuban filmmaker based in New York City. Her short film The Fisherman (2018) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her latest short, Norheimsund (2025), premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and was later selected for Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, Tampere, SXSW London, Palm Springs, and numerous other international festivals. Her work has been recognized by the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards and the DGA Student Film Awards. She is a recipient of the BAFTA BBC America Diversity Scholarship and holds an MFA in Film from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She is currently developing her first feature film under the mentorship of TorinoScriptLab.
