Anna J. Takayama is an LA-based filmmaker who was born in New York and raised in Tokyo. Influenced by her Japanese-American bicultural background, she has always had a keen interest in global storytelling and shedding light on stories untold. She most recently wrote, directed and edited the short film, THE VOICE ACTRESS, which won the Special Jury Award at SXSW in March of 2022, the International Short Film Competition at the Leeds International Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Short Shorts Film Festival in Tokyo, Best International Film at HollyShorts Film Festival and Special Jury Mention for the Best of the Fest Award at Palm Springs International ShortFest. The narrative fiction film stars her mother, who has been a working voice actress for the last 30 years.
