Ajani Amiri Thomas produced, wrote, and directed a short-film called “Crispus”.  The film tells the story of a man in solitary confinement, struggling to remember the sound of his mother’s voice, which has been screened at the Kennedy Center.  It earned him honors from the EJS, and D.C.’s Filmmaker of the Month in August 2018. Crispus was selected by PanAfricain de Cannes, the DCBFF, NewarkIFF, SBFF, and is a semi-finalist in the Copenhagen Underground.  Ajani aims to follow up with an Afro-futurist anime project, and a feature film titled Kings of Babylon about the true story of Black Panthers who have a shootout with the KKK.
