Charlotte Brathwaite is an award-winning artist and director known for immersive, genre-defying performances that blend theater, music, ritual, and installation. Her work has been presented internationally at the Holland Festival, The Public Theater, Park Avenue Armory, HAU Berlin, The Kennedy Center, and more. Centering storytelling as a site of resistance, remembrance, and radical possibility, her projects often engage youth, interdisciplinary artists, and community collaborators. A recipient of honors from the Princess Grace and Doris Duke Foundation, United States Artists, and Creative Capital, among others, she has collaborated with adrienne maree brown, Meshell Ndegeocello, Sanford Biggers, Peter Sellars, and others.
