Desdemona Chiang is a stage director based in Seattle, Washington and Ashland, Oregon. Her credits include The Great Leap (Guthrie Theater), M Butterfly (South Coast Repertory), The Winter’s Tale (Oregon Shakespeare Festival), Pride and Prejudice (Pittsburgh Public Theatre), Vietgone (Alley Theatre), King of the Yees (ACT Theatre and Baltimore Center Stage), As You Like It (California Shakespeare Theater), andConstellations (Seattle Repertory Theatre), among others. Her awards include the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Theatre, SDC Sir John Gielgud Directing Fellowship, and the Drama League Fall Directing Fellowship. She is the co-founder of Azeotrope, a theatre producing consortium in Seattle, and an adjunct faculty member at Cornish College of the Arts. She received her MFA in Directing from the University of Washington School of Drama.
