Bridget L. Moore, a Dallas, Texas native, is the Founder and Artistic-Executive Director of B. MOORE DANCE. An acclaimed choreographer, educator, and dancer, Moore is widely recognized for her significant contributions to the field of dance both nationally and internationally.
Moore’s choreographic work has been commissioned by leading institutions including TACA, TITAS, Ailey II, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Urban Bush Women, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Bruce Wood Dance/METdance, Red Clay Dance Company, Point Park University, Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at Austin and Texas Christian University.
Moore’s recent commissions as a choreographer include, The Sound of Music for Dallas Theater Center, The Odyssey for Public Works Dallas, and The Wiz for the 100th Centennial Celebration at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA).
A former dancer with the New York-based Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE: A Dance Company (1999–2008), Moore toured extensively to Cuba, London, Greece, Budapest, Amsterdam, Mexico, and beyond. Her work has been presented at prestigious venues and festivals including the Fall for Dance Festival (New York), Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Series, The Joyce Theater, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre, Margot & Bill Winspear Opera House, and Addison Theatre Centre.
Moore has held leadership positions as Artistic Director of Joffrey Ballet School–Texas and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. She served as Visiting Professor at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea, and was previously on faculty at Booker T. Washington HSPVA (2011–2014), where she also led the World Dance Ensemble. From 2008 to 2011, she was Dance Director at Tri-Cities Visual and Performing Arts High School in Atlanta, Georgia.
Her work Uncharted Territory: Body of Evidence received the TACA Donna Wilhelm Family New Works Fund grant in 2017 and was commissioned by TITAS for the Command Performance Gala at the Winspear Opera House. She also created new work for TACA’s 50th Anniversary Gala. Additional honors include the 2016 Princess Grace Professional Development Grant for Arts Administration and the 2012 Princess Grace Foundation Choreography Fellowship Award. Moore was named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” for her co-directorship of This Woman’s Work.
Moore holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The Ohio State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her multifaceted career as a choreographer, performer, educator, and arts leader underscores her enduring commitment to the advancement and preservation of the dance continuum.
