Christian A. Warner

Christian A. Warner is an interdisciplinary performance artist, choreographer, sound designer, and director working across movement, sound, and film. His choreography has been commissioned by Pepatian / BAAD, Triskelion Arts, JCAL, Performa/Dance, Ballet Co.Laboratory, and the BlackLight Summit. He is a 2023 Heinz Endowment Creative Development Awardee, a 2025 New York Dance Festival Choreographic Fellow, and a 2025 Princess Grace Award winner in Choreography. 

 

He has danced with companies and artist such as Sidra Bell Dance New York, Boca Tuya, NVA & Guests, GauDanse, slowdanger, TU Dance, Owen/Cox Dance Group, Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, Ponybox Dance Theatre, and Kayla Farrish. His early career performance credits include Broadway credits in Disney’s The Lion King, the NetWorks Tour of Oliver! The Musical, and regional productions of Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, and Disney’s When You Wish at Theatre Under the Stars as a student of HSMT. Film credits include BUZZED by Michael Jemison, Church: The Movie with Darius McCrary and the late gospel legend, Daryl Coley; and Cry of the Third Eye by Lisa E. Harris. 

 

As a sound designer, Christian’s work has been featured in GRAPH for Sidra Bell Dance New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit “Flight To Egypt” and Imani Gaudin’s production nanibu, premiering at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has contributed to the Jacob’s Pillow Podcast PillowVoices and the upcoming publication, Life, Still Magazine. 

 

A native of Houston, TX, Christian is a dance graduate of Kinder HSPVA and was recognized as a 2012 YoungArts finalist in Modern Dance; and, acquired his BFA from Point Park University where he was also recognized as a Dizzy Feet Scholarship Recipient and Gala Performer.
