Emily Adams is an American ballet dancer and choreographer. She trained at the School of American Ballet, joined Ballet West in 2007 and was promoted to Principal Artist in 2015. Emily began choreographing as a student, participating in the New York Choreographic Institute’s Spring Session 2004. She has created six ballets for Ballet West, most recently The Thing with Feathers (2021). She was awarded the 2017 Utah Arts Festival’s Choreographic Commission. In August 2019, Emily collaborated with The Way of the Rain, Sibylle Szaggers Redford, and composer Tim Janis to create Earth Movements: A Symphony for Ballet which was presented at the UN 68th International NGO Conference. Recent projects include Mass Hysterical for NCI 2022 and IF THE BODY SPEAKS in collaboration with composer and Sundance Institute Fellow, Katy Jarzebowski.
