2025 Princess Grace Award

Hannah Garner, named ‘25 to Watch’ by Dance Magazine, is a NYC-based choreographer, director, and performer. She graduated from SUNY Purchase with a BFA in Performance/Composition and minor in Arts Management. Hannah has worked with Doug Varone, Raja Feather Kelly, Sue Bernhard, and Megan Williams in venues such as The Joyce Theater, New York City Center, Park Avenue Armory, and New York Live Arts. Her work as 2nd Best Dance Company has been commissioned nationally by leading dance organizations: Whim W’Him, Gibney, SUNY Purchase, GroundWorks DanceTheatre, among others. She served on the dance faculty of SUNY Purchase, Bard, and Gibney, and sat on the 2024 Bessie Selection Committee. Her work seeks beauty in failure, explores limits of the body, and finds solace in the humor of being human.
