Kimberly Bautista is a Colombian-American writer, director and producer from Pasadena, California. Kimberly’s award-winning documentary “Justice for My Sister” about one Guatemalan woman’s determination to hold her sister’s killer accountable was broadcast on PBS Stations and TeleSUR. Kimberly’s comedic pilot “The SweetSpot” about millennials of color navigating a quarter-life crisis premiered at Outfest Fusion. Her recent short film “Heart Swell” is a magical realism drama about overcoming trauma from sexual violence. She recently was selected to pitch her punk rock dramedy feature script “19.99 Plus Tax” at the National Association of Latino Independent Producer’s media market. She’s in pre-production with her coming-of-age fantasy short comedy “Take Your Power Back.” Her forthcoming immersive documentary video art installation “My Grandma Taught Me to Pray” chronicles indigenous elders who’ve maintained sacred traditions.
