Lydia Cornett

Lydia Cornett is a filmmaker from Baltimore, Maryland, currently based in Columbus, OH. As a former musician turned filmmaker, she makes work that unites the restraint of observational storytelling with the physicality and connection she associates with music-making. She is an alum of the UnionDocs Collaborative Studio and the Jacob Burns Film Center Creative Culture Fellowship, and she is a two-time recipient of the NYC Women’s Fund. Her short films have screened at numerous film festivals including BAMCinemaFest, Sheffield DocFest, AFI Docs, AspenShortsFest, and DOC NYC. Her work has been distributed and featured by The New Yorker, PBS Reel South, Nowness, NoBudge, and Vimeo Staff Picks. Lydia graduated from Princeton University with a degree in History and is pursuing her MFA in Art at Ohio State University.
