Maïssa Lihedheb is a German-Tunisian writer, director, and producer whose work explores power, migration, identity, and family through genre and dark humor. She is an MFA candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and an Ang Lee Scholar. Her films have screened at Tribeca, BFI London, Palm Springs ShortFest, El Gouna, and Filmfest Dresden. Her short Dogfriend won Best German Film at Interfilm Berlin and received a German Short Film Award nomination. Lihedheb is a recipient of the Spike Lee Production Grant, the T-Port Cannes Fellowship, the Goethe-Institut Tarabya Cultural Academy Fellowship, and the DAAD Scholarship. She is currently developing her debut features: Wedding and a Funeral, Carapace, and The Good One.
