Nicole Chi is a Costa Rican-Chinese writer, director, and producer interested in telling stories where cultures and languages intersect to form new links between people. She has been recognized with awards such as the Director’s Guild of America’s Student Film Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement and the Austin Film Society’s Texas New Voices. She holds an MFA in Film and Media Production from UT Austin and was a Fulbright Fellow. Her films have been official selections at the Telluride Film Festival, SXSW, and Short Shorts Film Festival and Asia. Her first feature-length documentary film premiered at Visions du Réel and won a Special Jury Mention in the Burning Lights Competition. 

 

Nicole is currently in development on her first narrative feature-length film.
