Sam Drake is a filmmaker currently based in Milwaukee, WI. Recently, she completed Terminal Island, an exploration of ecological dread and LA’s vanishing palms, and Suspicions About the Hidden Realities of Air, a collage of image, sound, and text tracing a hidden history of covert cold-war era human radiation testing. Her work has been exhibited in venues around the world including The Museum of Modern Art, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Media City Film Festival, CROSSROADS, EXiS Experimental Film & Video Festival, Collectif Jeune Cinéma, Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival, Winnipeg Underground Film Festival, Transient Visions Festival of the Moving Image, and Antimatter. She is also a programmer and lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
