X.K. Balashov is a filmmaker and animator with roots in both Portland, Oregon, and Minsk, Belarus. They currently reside in Los Angeles, where they are pursuing a BFA in Character Animation student at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Their films have have been selected for numerous film festivals, including the Athens International Film Festival, Outfest LA, and the Panorama Film Festival. Aside from animation, they also enjoy writing, making electronic music, studying folklore and mythology, and falling hopelessly in love with the weird and wonderful parts of life.
